GC119 Simon Leverett, Llandeilo, Carmarthenshire

Since 2021 Simon and his family have put a herd of 150 mainly jersey cross cows and followers on their newly acquired Sir Gar council holding, with approximately 150 acres in one block but limited cow accommodation and facilities.  They started milking June 21 and in the autumn made the decision to move to just 3 milkings in 2 days. So far this has been successful and they are aiming to continue this strategy throughout the year. 

Currently calving from mid-April through to October with the plan to reduce this over the next few seasons.
